Analysis of the writing I results: Some phrases from the analyses to be discussed:
Task 1: Sample of a proper answer The top two pie graphs show that there was only a very slight increase in the Australian population in 2001. The growth came fairly equally from both a natural birth increase and immigrants moving to the country. The bottom pie chart represents a breakdown of the countries from which the immigrants came. With a contribution of 34%, North and West Europe easily make up the largest portion of people settling down in Australia. The next largest contributors are Asia and South and East Europe – with indexes of 23% and 21% respectively. Not surprisingly given its geographical location, New Zealand is next making up 9% of the immigration total and the Americas are only one percent less, which consequently is 8%. The least significant part of expatriates comes from North Africa and the Middle East. The amount of 5% is taken from the pie chart to indicate the immigrants from these countries. Without the large number of expatriates from the European continent (55%), Australia’s population would have been significantly reduced. Given its proximity to Australia, perhaps Asia and New Zealand will continue to play a major part in the growth of the Australian population.
Evguenia: So this process should be taken under control in order to protect Australian people from extinction. VS. Max: So by the given charts can be seen that Australian natural population is not influenced by immigrants. Alfred: The number of immigrants is little bit smaller and it is quite normal for country with such climate. VS. Sasha: Even though the amount of immigrants inhabit nearly half of the Australia’ population. Youri: It figures out North Africa and Middle East. |
